Stones & Cinema for Our Time

Ken Harsh

Calcite comes in many colors, and is a favorite of many. Calcite is soft calcium carbonate and is found all over the world.  Calcite comes in all colors imaginable.  Stones that come in all chakra colors have evolved with the help of Mother Earth to become awakened first dimensional energy beings.  It is also usually very reasonably priced and available.

Orange Calcite is one of my favorites.  It is one of the best joy bringer stones, and will help one to dance, and sing and have more fun and even tell jokes better.  I have personally seen many orange calcites turn white after exposure to fun-challenged people.  I remember placing 6-8 orange calcite chunks around the head of a lady a few years ago, and then telling her to enjoy life more, and tell jokes.  After the session/consultation was done, one of the orange calcites had totally lost its color.  She heeded the recommendation.  I saw her a year later.  She had found a man who danced, was loving, and she had so changed that I did not recognize her.  When stones change color, they are giving their energy to help us, if they do change, count your blessings.  Orange calcite is available as tumbled stones, chunks, or made into spheres and other objects.  All are very reasonable.  The better orange calcite looks like ripe oranges, and is just as yummy and good for your energy field.  Most orange calcite comes from Mexico.

Green Calcite also comes from Mexico.  Its supply seems to come and go.  Some years it’s everywhere and other years not to be found.  Good green calcite seems to offer an energy that is clearing and cleansing to one’s environment.  It seems to help sick houses by improving their mood.  I think it would be good in hospital wards.  It might help mitigate the effect of some airborne pathogens, and make the overall healing aspects of the hospital better.  Some years, huge chunks of it are available, other years nothing. I t sort of feels like a nice clean green spring day.

Blue Calcite is very good for dream work and for the throat and brow chakras.  It can help to soothe the throat area, nasal passages, bronchial tubes, eyes and ears.  Most of it comes from Mexico, but the blue calcite from Madagascar has a much higher energy profile.  Blue Calcite from Madagascar has about ten times the energy and is a powerful dream state inducer.  I remember one time I bought a whole sack of Madagascar Blue Calcite, and went to sleep with my feet on the sack that night.  It so energized my dreams that I thought I had bilocated to a distant state and was worried that I would not get back to where I and the rocks had slept . It was an extremely lucid dream.  Again, blue calcite is very reasonable and usually available.

Clear or Optical Calcite exhibits the unusual property of double refraction, by altering light.  When you look through it two objects seem to appear – a sort of Gemini clone if you will.  Kids like optical calcite, and as a bonus it offers us the chance to peer into two worlds/two realities at the same time.  You can see where you are and where you are going or have been; it is sort of like a doorway to time, a revolving door to different dimensions and times, to alternate selves

Good pink calcite, aka Cobaltoan Calcite is one of the best stones for universal love and appreciation.  I saw my first specimens of this stone many years ago at an Arizona rock show.  They were expensive.  As I was driving into Sedona, spirit told me what they did and also requested that I make an offering of one in Boynton Canyon (one of the high vortex spots).  Since that time I have had many pieces of this wonderful loving stone, and have never ceased to be amazed by its blessings and love for all beings and entities.  It is a kind and wise stone, but much more expensive than many of the other calcites.  However, it is worth it, and should be in everyone’s collection of energy healers.

Another form of calcite that we see often is called Onyx, which is available in myriad carved forms such as chess sets, spheres, letter openers, carved animals, bookends, etc.  Most onyx is very grounding and also helps one connect well to the Earth.

Medium continues to amaze me and the critics.  It is the most popular mainstream show about psychics, ever, bar none.  Based upon the real life character of Allison DuBois, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona, it has become an absolute hit, landing in the top ten of the Nielson ratings and a smash.  Allison DuBois (played by Patrica Arquette) is a psychic who is real, as TV Guide calls her, “A Psychic Soccer Mom.”  Patricia plays it like a real live person, no fancy makeup, no killer clothes, no tiny waist, but real curves.  She has trouble sleeping, has a wonderful partner and supportive husband (well played by Jake Webber) and kids who can be cranky.  She enjoys sex and solves amazing crimes. Almost every show offers redemption, and while there is violence and raw stuff, life is not always neat and tidy.  Psychics are real, not freaks, Medium (so far) has played it straight, and I offer it my unqualified support and blessings.  If you are interested in the actual Allison, you may buy her book, Don’t Kiss Them Goodbye.  In the book she says “not all psychics are creepy-looking women with crystal balls…  Most of us are pretty normal…”  She also likes Dr.Pepper (so do I), junk food (I like Cheetos), and many other “regular things.”

Enough for now, more stones and movies in future columns, thanks and blessings.
